My diction coaching is based on harmony between music and language combined with text comprehension. To reach this aim, operatic roles are studied and diction is improved and perfected. Language subtleties are explained in detail, and roles are discussed within the opera's context. However, priority is always given to the singability of the music. The coaching is tailored to the singers' individual requirements and desires, where existing language skills are considered and used. The result is clear textural articulation and convincing musical and dramatic interpretation. For singers who cannot come for coaching in person, I offer coaching over the phone or a recorded spoken version of the role for study purposes. |
